S.A.L.T. Council community survey
Before a Triad implements any program, the S.A.L.T. Council should
distribute a community survey to gauge needs and concerns of the older
adult community. From the survey, the Council would then create an
action plan to address the most urgent needs of the community and create
sub-committees to address each issue in turn. Sample surveys are

AARP Fraud Fighter
A website with information, tips and resources on how seniors can “Stay ahead of the Scam and Stay Smart”. This website includes information on how to become an AARP Fraud Fighter, so that readers can sign up receive fraud alerts, tell their story about how they were scammed (or maybe recognized and resisted a fraud), and download consumer fraud materials to share with friends and community groups.

If you suspect you've been hooked by a phisher, act immediately .
If you provided account numbers, passwords, or PINs to a phisher, notify the companies with whom you have the accounts right away. For information on how to put a "fraud alert" on your files at the credit reporting bureaus and other advise for ID theft victims, contact the Federal Trade Commission's ID Theft Clearinghouse by calling toll-free 877-438-4338. The TDD number is 202-326-2502. Even if you didn't get hooked, you should report phishing by contacting the National Fraud Information Center/Internet Fraud Watch. Visit www.fraud.org or call toll-free 800-876-7060, TDD 202-835-0778. You should also tell the company or agency that the phisher was imperdonating. The information you provide helps to stop identity theft.

Training Manuals for Law Enforcement, DA's and Judges
The New York City Department for the Aging developed training manuals for law enforcement, DA's and JUdges under a DOJ grant. Each of the training manuals listed on the website include power point presentations and are available to the public free of charge.

The CASE Against Elder Fraud: Exploring a successful model
New Online Resource - The Office for Victims of Crime announces the launch of a new e-bulletin, Partnering With Faith Communities To Provide Elder Fraud Prevention, Intervention, and Victim Services. It describes the Communities Against Senior Exploitation (CASE) program, which was developed to address the problem of elder fraud. The program began in Denver, Colorado, and is now being replicated throughout the nation.
